- 3rd Annual Entrepreneurship Pelican Cup Awards Luncheon held at ULM's Bayou Pointe with $96,000 in prizes awardedThe Entrepreneurship Pelican Cup hosted its third annual awards luncheon on April 19, 2024, at ULM's Bayou Pointe Event Center. The luncheon was the culmination of the entrepreneurship competition, with $96,000 in prize money awarded to the three top teams, including their faculty advisors, and the winner of the live elevator pitch competition, voted on by attendees of the luncheon.
- ULM readies Spring Fusion dance concert, brass ensemble and Bayou Masterworks performancesThe University of Louisiana Monroe School of Visual and Performing Arts invites the public to several upcoming end-of-semester performances. - ULM's Hanser and team present TRIO research at LASAP ConferenceOn March 5, 2024, Robert Hanser, Ph.D., in conjunction with ULM graduate students Fred Louis, Daniel Carson, and David Chism, presented preliminary findings on "Student Perceptions of TRIO Services: An Examination of Diversity, Mental Health, and COVID Considerations" at the Louisiana Association of Student Assistance Programs 52nd Annual Conference (LASAP) in Shreveport, Louisiana.
- ULM Honors Program students present research at annual meetingThe University of Louisiana Monroe Honors Program joined the annual meeting of the Southern Regional Honors Council on April 3-6, in Jacksonville, Fla. Dr. Joshua Stockley, Director of the ULM Honors Program, was accompanied by four students - Beau Benoit, a senior toxicology major; Caitlyn Cullen, a senior political science major; Taylor Brinson, a senior psychology major; and Isabella Coates, a junior psychology major.
- ULM Medical Laboratory Science students attend annual meeting, win bowl competitionULM Medical Laboratory Science (MLS) faculty and students attended the 2024 American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) of Louisiana and Mississippi Bi-State Annual Meeting in Biloxi, Miss. on March 25 - 27, 2024. Twenty-five MLS students represented ULM at the conference.
- Five students inducted into National Political Science Honor SocietyOn Monday, April 15, 2024, at the University of Louisiana Monroe, the Alpha Zeta Nu Chapter of Pi Sigma Alpha, the National Political Science Honor Society, inducted five new members. Elenora Franco, Haleigh Lewellyan, Jessica DeFreese, Mallory LaBoeuf, and Melanna Morris were inducted during the ceremony.

- International students create computer science workshop for ULM TRIO ETS area schoolsNaresh Chhetri and Abhishek Amgain, international students from Nepal, and computer science majors at ULM, created a computer science workshop for high school freshmen as part of their work with the ULM TRiO Programs. Pushkar Kandel, international student from Nepal and mathematics/actuarial science major, assisted with the creation of the workshop. All three have held campus jobs as tutors for ULM's TRiO participants. On March 14, 2024, they presented the computer science workshop to TRiO staff and received excellent reviews. Chhetri and Amgain will now pilot the workshop in selected ninth-grade robotics, math, and science classrooms in TRiO Educational Talent Search's target area schools.
- ULM's Anderson has book published by LSU PressULM Professor of History and Associate Director of the School of Humanities Dr. Jeffrey E. Anderson had his new book published by LSU Press in March. Voodoo: An African American Religion is a modern account of the voodoo faith as it existed in the Mississippi River valley from colonial times to the mid-twentieth century, when, he argues, it ceased to thrive as a living tradition.
- Judge Jimmy Dimos and family honored by ULMThe ULM Foundation recently hosted a gathering to honor the ULM legacy of the late Jimmy Dimos. On Saturday, February 24, 2024, friends, family, and ULM faculty and staff attended the event at the Laird Weems Center to celebrate the life of one of our area's most prominent citizens.
- ULM Atmospheric Science students and faculty travel to Ark. to experience eclipse totalityULM Associate Professor of Atmospheric Science Dr. Todd Murphy and students in the ULM Atmospheric Science program traveled to Cabot, Ark., on Monday, April 8, to locate in the path of totality for an atmospheric boundary layer experiment during the total solar eclipse. ULM was one of multiple atmospheric science groups in the field on Monday within the path collecting measurements on how the abrupt decrease in solar radiation would impact the lower part of the atmosphere called the boundary layer.

Super Warhawk Week will take place from Sunday, April 14 - Sunday, April 21. The week, featuring a host of athletic events, kicks off with the Harlem Globetrotters live at Fant-Ewing Coliseum on April 14 and includes events throughout the week featuring baseball, softball, tennis, and the ULM Spring Football Game on Saturday, April 20.
