Biographical Sketch
Joshua Stockley is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the ULM Honors Program. He received his a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in History from Oklahoma Baptist University and a M.A. in Political Science and Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Oklahoma. His research has appeared in the journals Race, Class, and Gender and Louisiana Progress, edited volumes such as The Roads to Congress, The 2012 Nomination and the Future of the Republican Party, and Mediated Images of the South. Dr. Stockley has worked on grants and published technical reports for the U.S. Department of Interior, Delta Regional Authority, U.S. Department of Agriculture, and Louisiana Governor's Office for Elderly Affairs. He has also published several book reviews, presented numerous papers at professional conferences around the nation, and serves on several editorial boards for publishers and journals. Dr. Stockley frequently appears on media at the local, state, national, and international level. He regularly speaks to community groups and at public forums around the state and nation about various topics in political science and public policy.
Dr. Stockley has been awarded the ULM Foundation Award for Excellence in Teaching, Student Government Association Faculty Award of Excellence, and Accent on Excellence Teacher of the Year.

Dr. Stockley's research interests include American government, state and local politics, campaigns and elections, political parties, Congress, Presidency, Southern politics, culture and politics, public policy, and public administration.
