Biographical Sketch

Dr. Mark Johnson is an assistant professor in the criminal justice department. He is a 32 year veteran of law enforcement and continues to serve as the training director for the University of Louisiana Monroe Police Department and instructor at the North Delta Regional Police Academy located in Monroe, LA. Dr. Johnson's  law enforcement career includes service with the Los Angeles County (CA) Sheriff's Department, United States Army/Louisiana National Guard, Corrections Corporations of America Winnfield (LA), Winnfield (LA) Police Department, Monroe ((LA) Police Department, and the University of Louisiana Monroe Police Department.

Research Interests

Dr. Johnson's passion is to improve and enhance the professional service that law enforcement provides to the community. As a lifelong law enforcement officer, Dr. Johnson believes that law enforcement is a vital and honorable profession that protects and serves the community. As the community grows and new laws, regulations, and community values evolve, the law enforcement profession needs to stay abreast of these changes and develop tactics, techniques and future leaders to stay innovative and good faith stake holders in the community.
