Biographical Sketch

After graduating from Northeast Louisiana University (NLU) in December 1986 with a bachelor's degree in occupational therapy, I began my career as a staff occupational therapist at G. B. Cooley Early Intervention in West Monroe, LA. In 1990, I accepted a teaching position at NLU, now the University of Louisiana at Monroe, in the Occupational Therapy Program. I continued teaching OT until 2009, when I left the university to assume the role of principal at a local Catholic elementary school. While I enjoyed that position, I realized how much I missed the profession of occupational therapy and I returned to practice in home health. I was then fortunate enough to be able to return to teach at ULM in 2013 in the newly established Master of Occupational Therapy Program and I have been here since that time. In addition, I am also providing monthly contract occupational therapy services for Richland Parish School Board, which I thoroughly enjoy!
