Biographical Sketch

Thomas J. DeNardin, is an instructor of Entrepreneurship, Marketing and General Business at the University of Louisiana, Monroe. Thomas J. DeNardin received his Masters of Science in leadership from Nova South Eastern University, Bachelor of Arts in Business Education and Marketing from Michigan State University, and graduated from Northwestern University’s Executive Media Management School.

Since beginning at ULM in 2008, he has been instructing management, marketing, entrepreneurship and general business courses.

As an instructor Thomas J. DeNardin has received The Award of Excellence from the ULM Foundation as top teacher at the University.  In addition Mr. DeNardin Received the Faculty Award of Excellence from the Student Government Association as the university’s top teacher.    He has also received the Faculty Recognition Award nominated by student athletics as the top teacher at the university.  The National Society of Leadership and success awarded Thomas J. DeNardin the Excellence in Teaching Award.  In 2011 Mr. DeNardin was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma as an honorary member. 

Prior to teaching in higher education, he owned a multi-million dollar marketing company, video production company and a promotional products company.

Before starting his own companies, he worked as Vice President of Marketing for Thrifty Car Rental, Western Pacific Airlines and Freedom Communications (Colorado Springs Gazette). In 1996, Advertising Age named him as one of the top 100 marketing executives in the United States.

Prior to his executive positions, he was in management for Frontier Airlines, United Airlines, America West Airlines (American Airlines), Wien Air Alaska, Director for the Muscular Dystrophy Association in Las Vegas, and a teacher and coach in the Las Vegas school system.

Mr. DeNardin has served on several community boards including the Convention & Visitors Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, Economic Development, Sport Corporation, Child Development, and several military charity boards.

DeNardin has also travelled around the world as the keynote speaker for marketing, business strategies, branding and promotions, and as a motivational and business coaching expert. Some of those cities include New York, Miami, Orlando, Vancouver, Nashville, Las Vegas, London and Puerto Rico.

DeNardin also owns DRDS Solutions.

Research Interests

Current research interest include management and marketing for the small business owner.  In addition, other research items include the ability of small businesses ability to compete against large corporations.
