Biographical Sketch
Caroline Carpenter is the MSN Family Nurse Practitioner Program Leader and Assistant Professor in the College of Health Sciences Kitty DeGree School of Nursing. She is faculty in the Family Nurse Practitioner, Clinical Nurse Leader programs. She received her Bachelor of Science in Biology degree in 2003 from the University of Louisiana at Monroe and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2006 from the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She received her Masters of Science in Nursing degree from Grambling State University in 2009. She received her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Frontier Nursing University in 2018. Upon graduating with her Family Nurse Practitioner degree she worked for Dr. Terry King in his private pediatric cardiology practice. Dr. Carpenter transitioned into full-time academics in January 2017 when she started teaching nursing. She maintains current practice by working PRN in a rural family clinic.
Mrs. Carpenter is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Lambda Mu Chapter, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), and Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners (LANP). She serves as a committee member for the Once Upon a Time New Stories in Pediatrics annual symposium. She is certified in Basic Life Support.
She participated in the ULM Mobile Bridge to Health - a Livingwell grant that serves the Desiard Street Shelter, Family Promise, and the Salvation Army.
