Biographical Sketch
Mary Elizabeth Bridges is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Louisiana at Monroe. She teaches a variety of courses including, Introduction to Psychology, Psychology as a Profession, Developmental Psychology, Educational Psychology, Psychological Resilience, Psychotherapy and Counseling, and Undergraduate Internship. She has over nineteen years of experience in higher education which includes working with first-year experience programming, student success, and academic advising.
Research Interests
Because of her history working with first-year students and student success, her research interests include resilience, coping styles, the imposter phenomenon, and the positive psychological resources (i.e., hope, optimism, self-efficacy) that can impact academic success. Dr. Bridges continues to explore innovative ways to integrate technology in the classroom and engage students with the content of her courses.
