Biographical Sketch

Dr. Jason A. Ashby earned his bachelor’s degree, double majoring in accounting and economics, and his master’s degree in accounting (MAcc) from Brigham Young University in April 2017. Prior to starting the doctoral program, Dr. Ashby taught a Principles of Accounting course at Brigham Young University and interned at Squire & Company PC in their advisory division. After graduating from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in May 2021 with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Business Administration (Accounting Emphasis), Dr. Ashby began his academic career at the University of Louisiana Monroe. 


Dr. Ashby's research interests include financial reporting, voluntary disclosure, non-GAAP disclosure, mergers and acquisitions, and fair value accounting. His teaching interests are financial accounting and managerial accounting. Dr. Ashby currently teaches the ACCT 2030, and ACCT 3020 courses at ULM.

Dr. Ashby's research interests include financial reporting, voluntary disclosure, non-GAAP disclosure, mergers and acquisitions, and fair value accounting.
