The University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) Amateur Radio Club (ARC) is comprised of University students, staff, and faculty who are interested in learning about amateur radio and wireless technology.
The following are the purposes for the existence of The University of Louisiana at Monroe Amateur Radio Club:
- Recognition and enhancement of the value of the amateur service to the public as a voluntary, noncommercial communications service, particularly with respect to providing emergency communications and use in recreation.
- Encouragement and improvement of amateur service by advancing skill in both the communication and technical phases of the radio art.
- Expansion of the existing pool of trained operators, technicians, programmers, and electronic experts.
- Carry out the amateur’s unique and long standing ability to promote international goodwill.
Membership in the ARC shall be open to all ULM students, staff, and faculty. Members shall agree to promote and uphold the Constitution of the ARC. Membership is not contingent on holding a United States Federal Communication Commission (FCC) license.
